I’m wearing: topshop blouse, aqua skirt, forever 21 boots, michael kors watch, h&m and purchased in brazil bracelets and bangles, neon orange lipstick by mac

When I was a little girl, my mother and I got in a big car crash. I had to go through a risky operation and that left me with an also big scar across my belly. This has been part of me since, and it never really bothered me to the point I’d ever try to cover it up. Who am I kidding, belly display in Brazil is as classic as the trench coat. The transformations your body is exposed to overtime tells a story of who you are. Just like my “made in brazil” tattoo is expressive of where I come from and my wrinkles will represent wisdom acquired in years to come, my scar reminds me I’m a survivor. Something I never wanna forget. So hide it?

  • Hey Flavia,

I also can relate to scars and its effect. At age two I lost my left index finger. I’ve always been so self conscious about it, even to this day so I find it funny that rings and bracelets are my favorite things to wear. I guess God has a sense of humor after all. You are beautiful, inside and out and it was a pleasure working with you at Orlando Style magazine. I hope we meet again soon–maybe at the next IFB Conference? :) Ps. I love your boots, it’s hard to find short cowboy boots!

    • See, I’ve never noticed it! I feel like the more you embrace it the less other people end up noticing. It was crazy seeing you at the IFBcon, too bad is was so chaotic and we couldn’t talk more. Thanks for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you as well

  • You look super beautiful with this outfit and I have the impression you are super nice aswell, eventhough I only know you through your blog. We all have scars (inside and outside) but I think in a certain way, they make us unique too, dont you think?
LOve your shirt and the boots!!!!
And as always, LOOOOOVE THE LIPSTICK!!! :)

    • Thanks, Carmen! I’m glad to hear I give off that impression. When you expose yourself on a blog like this, you’re always subject to some criticism (which luckily I haven’t received much of) and there’s always a chance to be misunderstood. So I’m happy to know I seem “nice”. A little secret: I absolutely love bold lips, BUT I must confess I use it as a short cut by skipping the eye shadow. Thanks for commenting

  • I love the top and skirt combination. So effortless and comfy for summer. Your lips are so beautiful — i love the color you chose to display on them. :)

  • I love your boots. I also think the close-up makes you look like a doll….And about your scar, it’s just a piece of you. Nothing hide:) I’m with you on that.

I love reading all the juice you spill on here, but to keep things clean and neat, spams and four letter words will be wiped off. Chop-chop!

Eu amo ler todos os babados que vocês tecem aqui, mas aviso que spam e mal criação não são bem vindos, e serão deletados. (eu também tenho mãe e ela lê o blog direto).
